Fuerteventura Beaches
(Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain)

Fuerteventura is part of the Canary Islands, which was originally formed by volcanic activity many millions of years ago. The countryside of Fuerteventura may be rugged and rocky, but there are over 193 km / 120 miles of some of the finest beaches in Europe, making Fuerteventura the ideal holiday destination for the whole family.

The delightful island of Fuerteventura has over 150 sandy beaches, ranging from large popular beaches where numerous water sports are available, including windsurfing, scuba diving, fishing and boating, to small secluded beaches where visitors can just relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Fuerteventura is also very popular with naturists, with the long stretches of quiet sandy beaches making Fuerteventura the perfect location for an all-over tan.

Many of the finest sandy beaches in Fuerteventura can be found in the Jandia area, which features miles of untouched beauty. Situated in the south of the island, popular Jandia beaches include Costa Calma, Cofete, Morro Jable, Butihondo and Sotavento. The Playa Del Matorral beach is split by the lighthouse into two parts, and the north section is very popular with naturists.

La Oliva is another favourite with visitors to Fuerteventura and features beautiful white sandy beaches and sand dunes. Well-known beaches here include Corralejo, El Pozo, El Medano, Bajo Negro, Los Matos and Cotillo. The Corralejo Natural Park is also in this area.
